Lab Tests
As a Naturopathic Doctor, I use your health history and Lab Testing to help get a better understanding of what's going on.
Lab Testing can be Diagnostic and/or Functional:
Diagnostic Lab Testing: To diagnose a condition. For example, Anemia can be identified by a specific pattern and low nutrient levels using a blood test.
Functional Lab Testing: To gain insight on how a body-system is working. For example, a Functional Hormone Test (dried urine test) can help us better understand the impact of stress upon your sex hormones.
Lab Testing ordered by Naturopathic Doctors is not covered by OHIP. It may be covered under your extended-health benefits/insurance plan, be sure to check your policy to verify if Lab Tests ordered by your Naturopathic Doctor is covered.
